Your acoustics expert for small spaces

Schmaus-Sound is the leading expert when it comes to sound research and acoustics in small to medium-sized rooms. Our focus is on smaller spaces such as recording studios and home theaters or high-end music rooms.

It has started as a thesis on space resonance. Since 2015, there is the company Max Schmaus Entertainment and Audio Consulting. Through extensive studies in our test rooms, we explored what small to medium-sized spaces need to reach their tonal limits.

We came to the conclusion that in every room the bass must be absorbed, but heights and mids should be scattered. These two requirements require different acoustic elements, which usually take up a lot of space. Therefore, we developed a hybrid that can do both, provide the perfect acoustic balance and save space.

The result is a modular diffuser system consisting of four different acoustic elements, which acts over the entire scattered frequency range. High-performance bass absorbers are integrated inside the diffuser chambers, which also gave the product its name: hybrid diffuser.
